Handicaps
We have for a trial period been issuing BEST NET trophies according to handicaps over 18 holes. Any cut we make to a handicap is purely for The British Junior Golf Tour events and is NOT for official CONGU records.
It has been decided to continue with the BEST NET handicaps for the remainder of the Winter Series, but there after we will revert to Nearest the Pin trophys.
Handicaps will only be used thereafter to assist with groupings and ensuring players are paired with similar abilitys.
2nd March 2008
Payment & New Players
Following a number of No show's at some golf events, new players will be withdrawn from the start sheet if full payment has not been received prior to the event starting. With winter competitions reaching maximum capacity, it is unfair on players who wish to play but are unable due to the field being full, only then for players to not show up.
Furthermore new players with be required to submit their handicap certificate if registering for 18 holes.
We are delighted to say we have seen a huge increase in the numbers of girls joining The British Junior Golf Tour.
We always welcome girls of all abilitys and ages to come along and play, where possible we will introduce a girls only field and with increasing numbers this wont be far away.
So well done to the girls who are setting the standard and to all you girls out there the message is Girls ON Tour ! We want MORE !

Success at The Golf Show 2007 NEC Birmingham
Steve .........doing I'm a little teapot on stage at the NEC !
A huge PR success at The Golf Show 2007 at the NEC Birmingham
With 5 youngsters coming along each day to participate in the live stage show, mingling with celebrities, our British Junior Golf Stars certainly got a taste of being in the limelight.
Joining BBC WM’s Jenny Jones on stage, each of the youngsters talked about their experiences playing on the British Junior Golf Tour. No nerves on stage for this talented bunch!
Following their stage interview, each junior was able to spend time with The Belfry’s very own Gary Alliss. As the crowds drew in to admire the pure natural talents and abilities of each of the youngsters, Gary was able to give each of them a few tips to help them along their way.
“You have some extremely talented kids here ! “……… quote from Gary Alliss
After another photo opportunity the team of youngsters then made their way to the indoor range / arena to participate in the trick shot show with non other than Trick Shot artist Dean Davis, who had the kids showcasing their shots to thousands, then performing golf shots while down on their knees.
With the British Junior Golf Tour going from strength to strength, we had non other than snooker legend Willie Thorne offering his services to come along and meet up with more of our youngsters at an event very soon.
We now look forward to a very exciting winter tour and with the London Golf show just after our Winter Final, we hope to be exhibiting from our own stand and bringing more of our team of youngsters to the stage.
Thanks to all the youngsters who took part we hope you enjoyed your time, and you will be able to view your photos in our online gallery.
NEWS as on the NEC Website

Eighteen of the UK's most promising youngsters will be on stage at The Golf Show, NEC Birmingham, next week.
The youngsters are fresh from the UK national final of the British Junior Golf Tour which was held for the second year at The Belfry.
The British Junior Golf Tour is the UK's only national junior golf tour for players aged five to 17.
Since its inception in 2005, the tour has expanded to include 80 events so far this year, with an impressive 30-competition winter tour underway, playing through to April 2008.
Player-of-the-year Josh Thorley is an example of how playing competitive golf with your peer group can bring on your game.
Since joining the tour in 2005, with a handicap of 25, he won his age group in the 2006 final and the 2007 winter final, and has just added the overall 2007 tour title to his collection. He now plays off a handicap of 9.8.
Steve Adams, the director of the British Junior Golf Tour, said: "So far in 2007 we have had more than 1,000 rounds of golf played and the tour is growing fast.
"Kids are making new friends and playing some wonderful golf, and we are sure in a few years they will be taking the European Tour by storm."
Our many thanks go to
Nirav Khiroya & Partners

who so kindly sponsored Trophies and Prizes at the UK National Final held at The Belfry on October 26th.
