Performance Based Entry

2009/2010 Performance Based Entry for British Junior Golf Tour (BJGT) Major’s

Following the overwhelming demand of entries in the newly launched 2009 BJGT Majors, the previous "first come, first served” tournament selection has been abandoned in favour a Performance Based Entry system.

The PBE will allow 10-17 year old members to earn their way into the BJGT Majors based on performances at previous events, whilst continuing to provide the opportunity for anyone who has earned the right to compete at this highest level.

The player's performance will dictate acceptance into an event, ensuring that all deserving juniors receive the opportunity to play in a BJGT Major.

Players must meet the eligibility requirements at the time of their application, and hold an official CONGU handicap of 24 or less for boys, 32 for girls. A home club handicap does not constitute a CONGU handicap.

For the 2010 Majors the following criteria will apply to all applications.

1st Priority

  • Previous/Current Player of the Year will receive exemption from PBE = "Gold Eligibility”
  • Previous/Current Player of the Season will receive exemption from PBE = "Gold Eligibility”

2nd Priority

  • Players who hold handicaps of 9 or less will be awarded "Silver” Eligibility”.

3rd Priority

  • Players who have won exemptions. (Winner/Runner Up from previous Major’s)
  • Once an exemption has been used, the player cannot use it again

 4th Priority

  • Will go to girls who hold a handicap of 20 or less
 5th Priority
  • Will be in order of a balance of age groups and lowest handicaps

The final cut will be made at the maximum number of players permitted into the competition.
